Sunglasses Trivia – About The Song “Sunglasses At Night”
Sometimes people wear their sunglasses at night because of diseases of the eyes, but in the 1980’s, singer Corey Hart released his first single off of his debut album “Sunglasses At Night” in 1984 and gave other reasons. His song and music video were created to express how life would be in a totalitarian society where everyone wore sunglasses at night. In order to make the song more marketable, it was altered slightly from the original to a more “romantic” theme instead of the police state that is shown in the original video.
The song has been adopted again in different styles, including electro in 2001 by Tiga and Zyntherius and rap in 2006 with The Federation. It was retitled “I Wear My Stunna Glasses At Night” by rappers E-40 and Keak Da Sneak.
